Lachlan Hamilton is a musician from Sydney, Australia. He received his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2009, studying under such prominent musicians as Dale Barlow, Col Loughnan, Judy Bailey, Bill Motzing, Craig Scott and Dave Theak. This has lead him to many performance opportunities in small group settings through to big bands and wind orchestras. Lachlan continues to perform as a saxophonist in Sydney.

Lachlan has been teaching saxophone privately for more than 15 years, with students excelling with AMEB exams, playing with the Department of Education Arts Unit ensembles, and their HSC Music exams.

Lachlan has almost a decade of experience conducting school bands from beginners through to graduating Year 12 students. His ensembles consistently perform to high praise at festivals including the NSW School Band Festival, Hornsby North Band Festival and Wahroonga Music Festival. He recently travelled to Japan on tour with the Killarney Heights High School Symphonic Winds and Big Band, where many musical exchanges were made with local Japanese school bands. He has completed professional development workshops with Larry Curtis and Steve Williams, and attends local and international conferences, including the Australian National Band and Orchestra Clinic (ANBOC) and the Midwest Clinic in Chicago. Lachlan is a proud member of the NSW branch of the Australian Band and Orchestra Director’s Association (ABODA).
